1,000 attend conference on finance
The Finance and Treasury Department of the Mayor’s Office held its fifth conference for financial, accounting, and economics professionals at the Culture Palace on Thursday.
About 1,000 people took part, discussing accounting, statistical, and budgetary issues, as well as the developing trends in those areas.
Altogether, 42,000 accountants, economists, and other financial professionals work in Ulaanbaatar, generating MNT 223.6 billion of income for the capital budget and investing MNT 119.2 billion in city development, according to participants in the forum.
Mayor G.Munkhbayar said the goal of the conference was to improve the skills of professionals in the financial sector. He also said that, as the city and the economy grow, there will be a need for more such professionals.
Finance Minister S.Bayartsogt said financial professionals will help implement the state policy of increasing local authority and reducing centralization of financial and economic policies. He urged that budgetary, financial, and capital issues be transparent.
Some delegates were honored as “Leading Finance Employees.”
