Parliament discusses oil policy, refinery construction

Parliament on Thursday discussed the state’s oil sector policy through 2015 and approved further discussion.

MPs also discussed a Government protocol to build oil refineries. Some MPs criticized the state’s involvement in building refineries

They said it was not necessary for the state to participate in all issues, and domestic organizations should be given the right to build refineries. But other MPs said the Government’s 10-percent participation in oil refinery construction will allow it to monitor fuel prices and keep them from rising too much. Parliament submitted the protocol to the Standing Committee on Economics for a second discussion.
