This Emergency Appeal seeks CHF 833,945 to enable the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to support the Mongolian Red Cross Society (MRCS) to deliver assistance and support to 25,500 people (5,100 households) for 12 months, with a focus on detailed assessments, food security, nutrition and livelihoods, and community preparedness and risk reduction.

ULAN BATOR, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Mother nature has come to Mongolia's rescue, with heavy rain and snowfall extinguishing a raft of forest and grassland fires, according to the Environment and Green Development Ministry Thursday.

RESCUERS TO RECEIVE INCENTIVES

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The cabinet on Wednesday decided to give money of missions and incentives to rescuers and servicemen of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The sum of approximately MNT 140 million will be allotted from the reserved fund of the government. At a duplicated number, 2,244 emergency servicemen worked on scenes of natural and non-natural disasters by the last half of 2011.
