Schools and kindergartens will not open due to quarantine

The Bayan-Ulgii province Emergency Management Commission declared a risk preparedness procedure in Sagsai and Altai sums due to the spread of foot and mouth disease. The decision was made not to open schools and kindergartens until the risk preparedness procedure is annulled.

Although foot and mount was spread earlier in Ulaankhus sum not many livestock contracted the disease. But neighboring Tsengel and Buyant sums declared a quarantine due to the possible risk of the spread of foot and mouth.

Locally 1300 heads of livestock were destroyed so the spread was eased in all sums.

Cattle, sheep, goat and camel vaccinations have been conducted twice. If there are no more cases of foot and mouth in a 21 day period, the quarantine in all five sums will be canceled.
