‘Mongolian Melody 2’ concert to be held in Tokyo

A composer, two-time State Prize Holder, and People’s Artist of Mongolia N.Jantsannorov will perform in a concert named “Mongolian Melody 2” on October 12 in the Kyurian Hall in Tokyo, Japan. He previously had a concert named “Mongolian Melody” in 2011 in Mongolia.

Mongolian singers G.Ariunbaatar and D.Otgonjargal along with the “Arga Bileg” group will participate in the concert.

Morin Khuur (horse-headed fiddle) and Yatga (zither) orchestras will also play in memory of the great Morin Khuur player G.Jamyan.

Prior to the concert, a contest will run on October 5 and 6 in Tokyo among 600 Japanese amateur Morin Khuur players. They will be judged by Mongolia’s famous musicians. The winners will perform in the upcoming concert together with the “Arga Bileg” group.

Initiated by the “Mongolian Melody” action committee, this concert is co-organized by the “Jantsannorov” foundation, Mongolian Embassy in Japan, and “Ger Mongolia” marketing agency.
