Education Ministry, Oyutolgoi announce results of cooperation
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Oyutolgoi LLC held a meeting on December 10 to announce the results of a memorandum of cooperation the two sides signed more than a year ago.
Ch.Ganbold of the Oyutolgoi Representative Managing Council opened the meeting with a speech. He said the memorandum has yielded some successes which the public should know about.
He said the company is cooperating with many organizations. He said 3,300 students are studying at professional training centers, 520 of whom are preparing to work in the mining sector. He added that 1,000 students graduated from professional training centers in 2010 and 2011.
Ch.Ganbold said Oyutolgoi is planning to allocate MNT 110 billion toward professional training education.
Education, Culture and Science Minister Yo.Otgonbayar said Parliament passed the law on education in March 2009 to improve training programs so the demands of the labor market can be met. The minister said Oyutolgoi is implementing projects under the law and has provided funding of MNT 5 billion for professional training centers. The company also pays stipend to students.
