ENVIRONMENT MINISTER AT DURBAN CONFERENCE
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Representing the government of Mongolia, the Minister of Environment and Tourism L.Gansukh has expressed a position of Mongolia at the United Nations Climate Change Conference kicked off on December 6 in Durban, the South Africa.
He hopes that the Durban's conference will reach solutions in climate adaption, introduction of environmentally-friendly technologies, creation of a financial mechanism to implement them.
"All this has been vital for Mongolia who is experiencing consequences of the global climate change," L.Gansukh stressed and underlined that any documents on climate change matters should reflect features of developing landlocked and more prone to climate change countries like Mongolia.
During the conference, L.Gansukh and Japan's Minister of the Environment Goshi Hosono have signed a cooperation memorandum on environmental cooperation between the Ministries. This memorandum has clauses on cooperation in implementing international new mechanisms on climate change.
The Minister Gansukh also has met Pema Gyamtsho, Bhutan's Minister for Agriculture and Forests, and Abdulla Bin Ibood Al-Miadadi, the Qatari Minister of Environment.
