Indonesian President to Visit Mongolia

The IV Democracy Forum is underway in the Bali island of the Republic of Indonesia. The President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, especially invited the Mongolian Prime Minister S.Batbold to discuss Mongolia’s experience of peaceful transmission to Democracy 21 years ago, and how Mongolia has successfully become a leading democratic figure in Asia during this period. As Mongolia is the current chairmanship of the Community of Democracies, Prime Minister S.Batbold is being regarded as an important attendee at the event.

On the second day of the forum, the President of Indonesia received prime minister S.Batbold and expressed his ideas of successful cooperation between the two countries in terms of energy, mining, agriculture and small and medium industries. Prime Minister S.Batbold noted that this visit had great significance as the stepping stone for a deep partnership between the two countries. He also touched upon the subject of a mutually beneficial cooperation between defense ministries and peace-keeping activities.

At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister S.Batbold invited the President of Indonesia for a state visit to Mongolia in the September of 2012. The state leader gladly accepted the invitation.

During the forum in Bali, Prime Minister S.Batbold had two-side meetings with government officials from Japan, Qatar, Turkey, East Timor, Great Britain, New Zealand, Brunei and Bangladesh. Many of them had great interest in Mongolia’s economic growth. The Prime Minister stated in his meetings that Mongolia is predicted to experience a 25% increase in it’s economy in the upcoming year.

It was apparent in the Bali Democracy Forum that many nations had taken interest in the recent events in Mongolia’s mining sector.
