UNESCO ORGANIZES TRAINING FOR MONGOLIAN ARCHEOLOGISTS

On Monday, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science Yo. Otgonbayar and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Mr. Shimizu Takenori officially opened training entitled "Protection of cultural heritage".


Co-organized by the Cultural Heritage Protection Cooperation Office, Asia-Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO and the Mongolian Ministry of Education, the training will last until October 22 and it has enrolled 15 restorers and archeologists from the Mongolian Cultural Heritage Center, the Institute of Archeology at the Academy of Sciences, the National Museum of Mongolia, the Museum of State History, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Museum of Kharkhorum.

The trainees will be given lessons on measuring archeological findings, taking photos of them, and restoring and cleaning them.
