HEALTH VICE MINISTER MEETS ADB ADVISER
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Vice Minister of Health J.Tsolmon met an Adviser of Asian Development bank /ADB/ John James and a Social sector officer of ADB L.Itgel on October 26.
They have exchanged views on middle-term evalution of JFPR 9131 project "Reducing persistent chronic malnutrition in children in Mongolia", which has been implemented at a support of Japan's fund for Poverty reduction.
The project is supposed to improve a food for 36-month old infants in Mongolia. It means that interrelations in food and nutrition sphere have been studied, staffers of first level medical organization in provinces have been instructed, mothers and infants have been provided with multi-content micronutrients, and a united plan of malnutrition training programme has been elaborated.
J.Tsolmon said that a reduction in persistent chronic malnutrition in children is the valuable investment in the children's future and added that a collaboration between agriculture, food production and private sector must be strengthened.
Then the sides talked about an implementation and results of model projects aimed to support initiative on reducing the malnutrition.
The Vice Minister thanked for helping the Government in improving a food for children.
