MONGOLIA TO CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF JOINING UN
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to run several actions dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Mongolia's joining the UN. A scientific conference themed “50 years of Mongolia in UN” and Open days will take place on October 27 at the Ministry to present Mongolia's position at international relations and its participation in the UN. The Foreign affairs Minister, G.Zandanshatar will open the conference. The gathered are expected to consider speeches concerning a history of Mongolia in joining the UN, Mongolia's position and participation in the UN, military participation of Mongolia in the UN's peacekeeping operations, the UN's reform and Mongolia. In it, a participation is expected of diplomats, officials, representative of state organizations, heads of Diplomatic missions in Ulaanbaatar, Resident representatives of international organizations, scientists, researchers. During the Open days, a ceremony will run to present a new stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Diplomatic service in Mongolia and the 50th anniversary, a “Cooperation of Mongolia and UN” photo exhibition will open, and winners of a 100 questions quiz and of “Mongolia in UN's operations” essay writing contest will be awarded.
