Group wants more MPs from Ulaanbaatar
A group called the My Ulaanbaatar Association will hold a demonstration at Sukhbaatar Square at noon on Friday to demand the capital get more representatives in Parliament. The group was founded by J.Batzandan, a member of the national consultative committee of the DP.
The group says more money needs to be allocated to address problems in the capital, such as pollution and traffic jams, which is why the number of MPs from the capital needs to be increased.
J.Batzandan says he opposes a proposal to change the allocation of seats in Parliament that would decrease the number of MPs from the capital from 26 to 12. Instead, he would like to see the number increased to 50.
