"GREEN CITY CAMPAIGN-2011" STARTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Dedicated to the 372nd anniversary of Ulaanbaatar city's establishment, a monthly “Green city campaign-2011” will start October 14 on the Sukhbaatar square. It has been organized within the Public day of planting trees and the Year of Water. Aims of the campaign are to attract people to the deeds of protecting nature, improving habitat, increasing green zones, giving ecological culture. During the action, a fair of trees and bushes will run, and art and culture measures are expected. The campaign will start with cleaning the Tuul, Selbe and Uliastai rivers under an appeal “Let's care for rivers and water”. Some officials will open the campaign, for example, a Minister of Nature environment and tourism L.Gansukh and a Mayor of Ulaanbaatar G.Monkhbayar. As a representation of those who have planted tress, 2-3 families will receive grants from the administration of the UB city, Water authority, Forestry authority.
