AMBASSADOR J.ENKHSAIKHAN TO CHAIR PREPARATORY COMMISSION
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The "A" working group of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CNBTO) will be chaired by J.Enkhsaikhan, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Austria and the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the UN organizations in Vienna, in the year 2012. The Group Developing Countries and China has ratified voting for J.Enkhsaikhan. The Preparatory Commission was set up in 1997 and it bears a responsibility to ensure preparation for validating the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) which was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1996.
For the time being, the Preparation Commission joins 185 countries. It has two working groups--working on financial (Working Group A) and on verification matters (Working Group B). The main activities are performed by the Provisional Technical Secretariat.
