MEETING BETWEEN JAPANESE AND MONGOLIAN DELEGATIONS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan's parliament Mr. Takahiro Yokomichi has said the Japanese always thank Mongolia for its assistance and help given during the natural disasters occurred there last March. He also has expressed a satisfaction with the inter-parliamentary ties between Mongolia and Japan. It was sounded at a meeting between him and the Speaker D.Demberel, which took place within the 125th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). Mentioning about the 40th anniversary of the Mongolia-Japan diplomatic relations to be marked next year, Mr. Yokomichi pointed out the two countries should intensify the comprehensive partnership and effectively boostd the collaboration. D.Demberel said the Mongolians are grateful to Japan for its aid and assistance. Saying Mongolia has put its mineral and strategic deposits into economic circulation, he noted that Japan can invest several economic sectors in Mongolia. In turn, Mr. Yokomichi said Japan is seeking an opportunity to partake in the Tavan tolgoi mineral project. "it is important to make investments to this project and also to strengthen a role of the intergovernmental collaboration and partnership," replied the Mongolian Speaker. At the IPU Assembly, the Mongolian delegation has been represented by Mr. Demberel and D.Ochirbat MP, the head of the Standing committee on social policy, education, culture and science, and S.Oyun B.Batbayar MPs.
