L.BOLD PARTAKES IN ISAF DEFENSE MINISTERS' MEETING

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A delegation led by the Defense Minister L.Bold participated in a Defense Ministers' meeting of the NATO and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) held October 6 in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting gathered Defense Ministers of 49 countries that have sent troops to the ISAF; also Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the NATO Secretary-General; General John R. Allen, a commander of the ISAF. The participants have discussed course, achievements of the ISAF, problems and difficulties facing the ISAF. Prospects of the ISAF and a course of transferring the security responsibility into Afghanistan's military and police bodies have been considered as well. After the meeting, L.Bold has met Claudio Bisogniero, a Deputy Secretary-General of the NATO; Pieter De Crem, a Defense Minister of Belgium; Anyu Angelov, a Defense Minister of Bulgaria; and General John R. Allen. They shared views on Mongolian Armed Forces activity in the military operations in Afghanistan and on the Mongolia-ISAF cooperation. L.Bold also delivered a report at a Defense Ministers' meeting of the ISAF Regional Command North to express Mongolia's position on participation of the Mongolian troops in the ISAF.
