DP youth support proportional election system
The Democratic Youth Union (DYU) organized its third conference last week, with 80 young people from Ulaanbaatar and aimags attending.
Delegates at the conference appointed B.Byambadorj secretary general of the DYU and discussed the program, “Young Mongol Citizen 2020.”
The delegates also debated the draft law on the 2012 election, and determined their policy regarding the election structure.
The delegates decided that the proportional system of choosing MPs should be the predominant system in the 2012 election. They also voted in favor of holding the 2012 parliamentary election and local settlement elections on the same day.
