CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Wednesday, the cabinet backed in principle a draft law on freedom of media which was initiated by the President Ts.Elbegdorj. It will be conveyed to the initiator with some proposals.
The draft law bears clauses to support independence of media, to ban any activities that limit the freedom and state-owned media, and not to control over content of public media. - In accordance with the cabinet decision, monitoring sections for aimags will be transmitted to direct leadership of heads of the aimags' administrations. They will be separated from the structure of state administration and management
- The cabinet approved a multilateral agreement on founding the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries. This agreement was signed on April 25, 2011 in New York City, USA.
