President receives Mongolia’s new ambassador to Japan
On Wednesday, President Ts.Elbegdorj received S.Khurelbaatar, Mongolia’s new ambassador to Japan, and presented him with the credentials he will present to Japan’s emperor.
Ts.Elbegdorj stated that Japan is a significant partner of Mongolia, one that “helped us during the transfer period from a socialist structure to democratic one.” He said the two nations are working to develop relations and a strategic partnership. He said economic cooperation is a crucial issue for bilateral relations, and the two sides should conclude an agreement of economic collaboration in the near future.
He also noted that the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relation between Mongolia and Japan will be observed this year. He said Mongolia expects honored guests from Japan will visit Mongolia in connection with the anniversary. The president expressed his hope that the new ambassador will achieve success as a seasoned diplomat.
