Mayor on official visit to Germany
Ulaanbaatar Mayor G.Munkhbayar is on a four-day official visit to Germany at the invitation of Jurgen Nimptsch, the mayor of Bonn.
His official visit began with an official meeting with Klaus Wowereit, the mayor of Berlin, on Monday.
Mongolia’s ambassador to Germany, N.Davaadorj, attended the meeting. Ulaanbaatar and Berlin established formal relations in 1977, and official delegations from each city have visited the other regularly since 1988.
The Mayor is visiting three cities in Germany (Berlin, Bonn, and Frankfurt) to hold official talks with the mayors of those cities. G.Munkhbayar also plans to attend the opening of an exhibit in Bonn showing rare archeological items found in Mongolia and recovered by German experts.
