ABOUT MEAT SUPPLY AND TRADE IN UB CITY

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Reserved meat has been sold from January 15 for the city's needs, the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry T.Badamjunai reported on Monday at the cabinet meeting.


According to him, the price of beef stood at MNT 3,700 per kilo, mutton--MNT 3,200, and goat meat--MNT 2,600, and approximately 45 tons of meat is being sold a day in the city through 202 shops.

Fairs of meat have been organized on January 27-29 in the city's 19 shopping centers, with participation of 14 meat processing factories, who sold 373.4 tons meat.

Pursuant to a guideline given by the cabinet, the Ministry of Agriculture and other agencies launched measures for ceasing an illegal export of meat and to toughen the control. It has been also planned to increase the meat reserve by 10 thousand tons for the city's need this spring.

The related bodies were obliged to pay special attention to increasing of the meat supply and trade.
