Ministry plans to build 40 kindergartens

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science plans to build 40 kindergartens in the state this year with the assistance of the World Bank.


19 kindergartens will be built in Ulaanbaatar and 21 in local settlements. Four kindergartens will be erected in the capital’s Bayanzurkh district, four in Sukhbaatar district, five in Songinokhairkhan district, and one each in Khan-Uul, Bagakhangai, Baganuur, and Nalaikh districts, according to the ministry.

Z.Tsendzaya of the ministry told our reporter that the new kindergartens will be built with money from the state budget and the World Bank. There are currently 275 kindergartens in the capital attended by 56,211 children. But there are not enough kindergartens in the state, and thousands of children are unable to go to kindergarten.

The new kindergartens in Ulaanbaatar will cost about MNT 330 million. Each will have enough capacity for 100 children. The ministry hopes to finish construction by the end of the year.
