MPP caucus discusses draft laws, gas prices

In addition to criticizing MPP Chairman and Prime Minister S.Batbold for his nominations to fill six ministerial vacancies, the MPP caucus addressed several other issues at its regular meeting on Monday.

In fact the meeting finished so late that MPP caucus chairman U.Enkhtuvshin did not meet with journalists until Tuesday.

U.Enkhtuvshin said the caucus discussed several draft laws, including special allowances to residents of remote aimags and soums, and bonuses to mothers with multiple children.

The caucus also discussed rising gas prices and their effect of the prices of consumer goods and reserved meat.

The caucus established a working group to study fuel and reserved meat prices, and discussed the need for urgent measures to be taken on prices once the new government is formed. The caucus also discussed concluding a fuel import agreement with Russia.
