Anti Corruption Authority officials meet with UN representative
N.Ganbold, the head of the Anti Corruption Authority (ACA) received Sezin Sinanoglu, the United Nations resident coordinator and UNDP resident representative in Mongolia, on January 6.
Other ACA officials also took part in the meeting.
Sezin Sinanoglu thanked the officials for receiving her and said the UNDP’s anti-crime and anti-drug units are cooperating with the ACA. She said that, under a program called “Strengthening Justice and Transparency in Mongolia,” the UNDP has cooperated with the ACA since 2008 and has worked with the Health Ministry, prosecutorial organizations, and civil society organizations.
Sezin Sinanoglu said the “Strengthening Justice and Transparency in Mongolia” program has been successfully implemented, and she expressed her hope that the ACA and related organizations will actively participate in a new program to be implemented from 2012 to 2016.
N.Ganbold said the ACA has made suggestions for a new draft law on anticorruption, and that the ACA has will discuss cooperative efforts with the Government, local settlements’ managing organizations, ministries, agencies, and organizations to fight corruption.
Sezin Sinanoglu said she supported the ACA’s activities, and added that the UNDP is ready to cooperate with Parliament and the ACA in fighting corruption.
