U.S. shows interest in Mongolia’s renewable energy sector
U.S. representative for Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, and the primary economic advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs (EPAC), Atul Keshap; along with a director of the Office of Economic Policy in the Bureau of EPAC, Raymond Greene, are paying an official visit to Mongolia.
Mongolia’s wind reserve is 0.6 terrabytes which is enough to generate power not only to Mongolia but also China. Thus, U.S. officials highlighted Mongolia’s potential to fully supply its internal power consumption with wind power, and even export it to Russia and China.
They also agreed that Mongolia is a country of great importance for the renewable energy sector on an international scale.
The officials also expressed that American private sector and renewable energy sector companies conducting major projects in foreign countries, are willing to partner with Mongolia.
