Mongolians to Join the 9th World Games with Sumo and Gymnastics

On July 25, the 9th edition of The World Games in Cali, Colombia, will begin with a spectacular opening ceremony in the Pascual Guerrero stadium in front of more than 35,000 spectators. For the Mongolian athletes who have acquired the right to participate in the World Games, these athletes will participate in the sumo and gymnastics competition. Mongolian sumo wrestlers took part in the 8th World Games organized in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 2009 and are considered experienced. The team titled “Step Airobek” of the Mongolian Gymnastics Federation took the bronze medal from World Championship in 2012. The First World Games was organized at Santa Clara at California State, in the USA in 1981. A distinctive feature of the World Games is arts and culture activities featured in the program and sport teams are also non-Olympic.
