Hollywood apologizes for using traditional Mongolian script in Iron Man 3
The Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Mongolia, Oyungerel Tsedevdamba, sent an official letter to the President of Marvel Entertainment, Kevin Feige, protesting the use of traditional Mongolian script in the movie Iron Man 3.
An apology was issued from “Marvel Entertainment” LLC on July 10, stating that traditional Mongolian script was used along with various symbols from other countries, in the banner of a fictitious character. The studio also claims that the fictitious character is not related to Mongolia by any means and it did not intend to represent Mongolian citizens negatively.
The studio apologized and stated that it did not expect such a reaction from the public
