Mines and Money Hong Kong 2011 invites Mongolian companies
New Venue for Mines and Money Hong Kong 2011
Mines and Money Hong Kong has now outgrown the Four Seasons
Hong Kong (15 November 2011) – Mines and Money Hong Kong in 2011 will be located at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. After a record-breaking attendance in 2010 the conference and exhibition has had to move to the larger venue to cope with the demand from the market.
Mines and Money Hong Kong will be the largest dedicated mining investment event in Asia with the exhibition set to increase by over 50%. Over 80 exhibiting companies ensure a real showcase for anyone interested in investing in the resource industry.
Just under 700 investment and mining professionals attended the event in 2010 and this is anticipated to increase to around 1000 next year as interest in Hong Kong for the natural resource sector hots up. At Mines and Money Hong Kong 2010, Robert Friedland, CEO of Ivanhoe Mines stated in his Keynote Address that, “Hong Kong is set to become the mining finance capital of the world.” Lawrence Fok, chief marketing officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing backed this up when talking about the exchange in Hong Kong by saying, “China will remain metal-intensive for the next 15 to 20 years, so we are becoming an international mining finance hub.”
Mines and Money Hong Kong continues to provide unrivalled networking opportunities for investors and mining companies through the exhibition, brand new meeting rooms and evening functions. In addition, the two-day conference and add-on workshops and summits allow delegates to get up-to-date information on the market as well as listening to mining companies detailing their investment opportunities. This year, either side of the two-day conference, are two separate investment summits focusing on the Indonesian and Mongolian mining industries.
Aspermont UK’s CEO, David Nizol, commented, “Last year Mines and Money Hong Kong, broke all records with regards to exhibition and delegate attendance and this has prompted the need to look for a bigger venue.” He continued, “we feel that the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre suits our needs perfectly by offering us a larger exhibition space right next door to the conference room to ensure great footfall for our exhibitors.”
