Battulga held talk with Vietnam's counterpart
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A head of the President's Office, D.Battulga held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Van Chien. The sides have signed a cooperation agreement between the two offices.
The President of Vietnam, Nguyen Minh Triet received Mr. Battulga in Hanoi November 25. Battulga has conveyed greeting from the President of Mongolia, Ts.Elbegdorj. Vietnam's President praised Battulga's visit, emphasizing that the cooperation agreement between the two offices will make an important contribution to promoting the Vietnam-Mongolia relationship and map out future plans for this cooperation.
In response, Battulga briefed the President Triet on the results of the talks with Nguen Van Chien and plans for making contributions to the development of Vietnam-Mongolia relationship. He affirmed that Mongolia wishes to boost relations with ASEAN nations, including Vietnam. "Mongolia highlights Vietnam's role and status in the region," he said. Battulga emphasized that the official visit of the President Triet to Mongolia in October 2008 gave a fresh impetus to develop the relationship between the two nations, especially to achieve fruitful development in cooperation in such fields as economics, trade, education and health.
Mr. Battulga also has met with Vietnam's Vice Minister of Defense Nguyen Chi Vinh and discussed a cooperation between the two countries' National Security Councils.
