Speaker receives Canadian ambassador
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Parliament Speaker of Mongolia D.Demberel met the Canadian Ambassador to Mongolia Gregory Goldhawk November 29.
"Mongolia and Canada are on two different continents but their climate and mentality are the same", underlined the Speaker and mentioned that the relationship and cooperation between the two countries in recent years are intensively developing. "A wider scope of the cooperations is seen," he added.
"Canada is a good partner of Mongolia in terms of investments, 97 percent of which goes to our mining sphere", he said and requested the Ambassador to pay more attention to investing the infrastructure and to widen traditional ties in agricultural sphere. He also said that possibilities exist for the two countries to collaborate in drilling to Mongolia the Canadian construction hi tech.
The Speaker said that interparliamentary ties play important role in elevating the ties and added that invitation to visit Mongolia for Noel A.Kinsella, a Speaker of the Canadian Senate, and P.Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons, are still valid.
The Canadian Ambassador Goldhawk thanked the Speaker for the audience and gave him a message from the leaders of Canada's parliament congratulating him on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of parliament with permanent operation.
He expressed a satisfaction with Mongolian Premier's visit to Canada paid this September after 37 years since establishment of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Canada and stressed that he would work hard to widen traditional relationship and cooperation between the two countries.
