Several paved roads to be built in 2011

The draft budget for 2011 includes plans to build several paved roads under the Millennium Road project and other programs, with money from the Asian Development Bank and Kuwait Fund.

The new paved roads will include 60 km in Bulgan-Uyench soums, 29.9 km in Kharkhorin-Tsetserleg, 16.4 km in Kharkhorin-Khujirt, 100 km in Khalzanburgedei-Solongot davaa, 40 km in Olgii-Tsagaannuur, 27 km in Bayankhongor-Arvaikheer, 50 km in Bayankhongor-Nariinteel, 50 km in Undurkhaan-Choibalsan, 98.8 km in Murun-Khatgal and 53 km in Tsetserleg-Ikh Tamir-Tosontsengel.

Among the bridge repair works planned are those on the 60-meter-long wooden bridge over Bukhmurun river in Bayan-Ulgii aimag, concrete bridges 211 meters long over Tuul river in Gorkhi, 75 meters over Teel river and 97 meters long over Uliastai river in Uvs aimag.

International financial organizations have been assisting in developing infrastructure in Mongolia. The paved way in Sainshand-Zamiin Uud and 18.25 km in Urgun soum in Dornogobi aimag in the frame of the Regional Auto Road Developing Project is financed by an Asian Development Bank loan. Also, the 85.3-km-long paved way in Mankhan-Khovd and 60 km in Ulgii-Khashaat will be constructed with a soft loan from China and 88 km to Unit-Tarialan by Kuwait Fund capital.

Aimags centers will continue with their road repair work and Auto Service Centers would be built in Orkhon, Khuvsgul, Bulgan and Uvurkhangai aimags with budget investment.
