Mongolia Economic Forum in March
Following the success of the first Mongolia Economic Forum (MEF) in 2010, the MEF NGO is to host the Mongolia Economic Forum 2011 to provide a creative platform for constructive debate and discussion about important issues impacting Mongolia’s economic growth yet again.
Tentative MEF 2011 dates are 2nd and 3rd of March 2011.
The first MEF was held in February, 2010 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, under the motto “Together We Can”. During the two-day event, government officials, private sectors, academics, foreign investors, donors, and civil society members discussed issues critical to the country’s growth, including capital markets, competitiveness, state registration reform, budgetary reform, mining sector development, environment and green economy.
Solutions identified through the MEF’s discussions and debate has already begun to yield results.
In addition, MEF NGO together with Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade Agency of Mongolia and Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the CEO Club of Mongolia and other partners from the private sector, is to host the Mongolia Investment Forum on March 4, 2011 following the Mongolia Economic Forum on March 2-3.
The Mongolia Investment Forum is closely associated with the influential Mongolia Economic Forum and is strongly supported by the Government of Mongolia.
The event will provide an excellent opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the current macroeconomic and political dynamics of the country and to interact with high-ranking policy-makers, opinion-shapers, and business leaders.
The agenda of the Mongolia Investment Forum is centered on the following subjects: Mining Sector and Related Opportunities, Stock Market Reform, Privatization of State-owned Assets and Risk Management. In addition to these discussions, the Mongolia Investment Forum will provide the opportunity for Mongolian business owners and investment banks to showcase specific investment-seeking projects to international investors.
