Mongolia-Kuwait joint statement issued

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and Kuwait issued a joint statement on January 6, 2011 in Kuwait City after an official visit of the Mongolia's Prime Minister S.Batbold paid to Kuwait.

The Prime Minister of Mongolia S.Batbold paid the official visit to Kuwait in January 4-6, 2011, at an invitation of Sheikh Sabah IV Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait.

During the visit, the Mongolia's Premier S.Batbold; and the Kuwaiti Emir Sabah IV Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah have held negotiations. In addition to it, the Premier S.Batbold has been received by the Kuwaiti Emir; and Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince of Kuwait. He also has met with Jassem Al-Kharafi, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait.

The sides have affirmed that the countries have established strength political relations, and then expressed their willingness to develop the mutually-beneficial bilateral cooperation in all sectors. The sides have expressed their satisfaction with successful implementation of several projects realized with capitals of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED). The Mongolian Premier has thanked to the government of Kuwait and the KFAED for rendering financial assistance to Mongolia for implementing projects on construction of autoroads and hydroelectric power station.

The sides have emphasized an importance to boost the bilateral collaboration in the commercial and economic spheres, and agreed to support the cooperation in the sectors of infrastructure, roads, rural development, urban development, mining, energy, agriculture, environment, education, culture, science, technology, communication, transportation, health, social welfare, defense and law enforcement. Then, they have affirmed to take necessary measures to develop the cooperation focused on these sectors.

The Mongolian side has expressed gratitude to Kuwait for a decision to increase the number of scholarships for Mongolian students. The two sides also have affirmed their willingness to supply oil to Mongolia from Kuwait.

Mongolia wants to develop collaboration in the mining, agriculture, health and other sectors and to attract investments from Kuwait to realize some projects in the exploration of mineral resources.

Moreover, the countries have a willingness to cooperate in exploiting nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. They have noted an opportunity to supply meat to Kuwait, and the Mongolia's side has made a proposal to make talks concerning this matter. Then, Kuwait has positively accepted the proposal, and affirmed to collaborate in the export of meat.

Mongolia has requested the Kuwaiti side to grant a non-refundable aid for establishing a pediatric hospital for children under 16 years, and then agreed with Kuwait to give information about detailed researches on a project on the new hospital.

The sides have shared views on urgent global problems, and they have a same position on the international matters. They have an aspiration to strengthen the bilateral collaboration in frames of the United Nations and other internat Minister has thankfully received the invitation, and agreed to arrange the date of the visit in accordance with a diplomatic line.
