Mongolia agrees to return remains of U.S. space rocket
The Mongolian government Wednesday decided to return remains of a U.S. space rocket that fell in Mongolian territory about one year ago, an official press release said.
During a cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Batbold Sukhbaatar, the government agreed to give back debris of U.S. Delta II rocket that fell in central Mongolia on Feb. 19, 2009, it said.
The United States said the rocket was launched in September 2009 from the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida state.
The decision to return remains of the rocket was based on the Mongolian compliance with relevant international agreements on space, the press release said.
The fall of the rocket parts didn't cause any damages to Mongolia.
