The Sixth Round of the Negotiations for the Japan-Mongolia Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was held from April 22 to 26, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan.
The Sixth Round of the Negotiations for the Japan-Mongolia Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) was held from April 22 to 26, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan.
The Japanese delegation was led by Mr. Seiji Kihara, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the Mongolian delegation was led by Mr. Ochirbat Chuluunbat, Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Mongolia. Mr. Keiya Iida, Deputy Director-General for Trade Policy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and experts from relevant ministries and agencies of both sides participated in the meetings.
In this round, progress has been achieved through negotiations in areas including General Provisions & Final Provisions, Trade in Goods, Investment, Trade in Services, Intellectual Property, E-commerce, Rules of Origin, Customs Procedures, Competition, Cooperation, Dispute Settlement, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT).
The schedule of next round will be arranged through diplomatic channels.
