Mongolians urged to make better choices this Lunar New Year
The National Association of Mongolian Consumer Rights has congratulated President Ts.Elbegdorj in his call for an alcohol-free Lunar New Year.
Association spokesman Ts. Dalantai spoke out in support of the “Mongolia Without Alcohol” campaign, and urged the President to stick by the movement.
He also urged Mongolians to celebrate the New year with humility. He asked that the people use the traditional holiday to support local businesses, and to avoid spending money on foreign products.
When choosing gifts, opt for products made in Mongolia” said Dalantai, “traditionally, Mongolians celebrated the Lunar Holiday humbly, People who had argued would greet each other with white cloths on this day.”
“Nowadays, people seem to be competing with their assets. The foreign obsession is hurting our economy.”
