Best morin khuur songs to be performed
The organizers of the 25th annual Morin Khuur Festival announced on Monday that the best songs of the festival will be performed at the Culture Palace on February 18.
About sixty songwriters with 80 songs are competing at the festival, covering a wide number of genres. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, and their songs will be performed at the Culture Palace on the 18th.
The festival has been organized under the President’s sponsorship since 2010, and nine songs will be awarded with a best song certificate and a prize. The best composer will be awarded by the President’s Cup. The first winner of the Morin Khuur Festival was “Mongol Dalai” by composer Ch.Sangidorj. Festival organizers say the winning songs from all the festivals will be compiled on an album to mark the festival’s 25th anniversary.
