EXTERNAL TRADE TURNOVER REACHES USD 735.2 MILLION
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ In January 2012, Mongolia's total external trade turnover reached USD 735.2 million by making trade with 94 countries from all over the world. Exports have made up USD 240.3 million, imports--USD 494.9 million.
External trade balance showed a deficit of USD 254.6 million in January 2012, while it was in deficit of USD 139.6 million in January 2011. The deficit increased by USD 115.0 million or 82.4 per cent against the previous year.
Total external trade turnover increased USD 178.4 million or 32.0 per cent, of which imports up by USD 146.7 million or 42.1 per cent, and exports up by USD 31.7 million or 15.2 per cent respectively, against the previous year.
Mineral products, natural or cultured stones, precious metal, jewelry, coins, raw & processed hides, skins, fur & articles, animal origin products, auto, air & water transport vehicles & their spare parts accounted for 97.1 percent of the total export value amount.
