DISASTER PROTECTION PLAN APPROVED
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The cabinet approved on Wednesday a plan of measures to implement state policy and program on protection against disasters.
Money for the program's implementation will be placed in annual budgets of the basic guidelines of socio-economic development and of localities, and be collected from loans and assistance from domestic and foreign organizations. An obligation has been given to the M.Enkhbold, the Deputy Premier, to report to the cabinet every first quarter of every year on the program's realization and results. It is expected that the program will end in 2020.
The cabinet considers that the disaster protection management system will improve, and roles and cooperation of state organizations, NGOs, private sector and voluntary organizations will be clarified. Disaster risk assessment methods will be created based on the UN's and others' international methods, which will help Mongolia calculate/predict possible damages caused by disasters and prevent the damages.
