CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The cabinet on its regular meeting on Wednesday supported in principle an elaborated by J.Sukhbaatar MP draft law on amending the law on Government.
The cabinet decided to tell the MP that he must carefully consider a clause "Not more than one third of the government may be parliament members". "If a number of the ministers of the cabinet cannot be divided by three, a problem may arise."
- D.Zagdjav MP's draft was rejected. "Before willing to annul the excise tax on luxurious cars, he should have thought about social, economic and legal consequences of this action and how it would meet demand and needs."
- Drafts were backed initiated by B.Bud and L.Gantomor MPs. They want to free from the custom tax and the VAT all the technical devices, equipment and spare part that are used in registering voters, in collecting, counting and uniting voting papers.
- The cabinet decided to send some proposals to the Z.Enkhbold MP's draft on amending the law on local elections.
- The ministers supported a draft on amending the law on Radio and radio waves. It will be sent to parliament.
As of present, 2.5 million people are using television, radio, mobile phones and wireless communications and other radio system and related techniques. In 1998-2008, the number of radio wave users increased 5.6 times, and 386 special licenses and 502 certificates were granted by 2012.
- The cabinet re-approved designs of identification cards of state inspectors, badges, papers on conclusions, fines and decisions.
- The cabinet discussed and backed a draft law on ratifying the Third Protocol Amending the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia. It will be submitted to the State Great Khural.
