PRESIDENT: WE MUST PAY ATTENTION TO MONGOLIANS ABROAD
The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj has addressed a consultative meeting dedicated to the contribution of the Mongolians in the world to the socio-economic and cultural development of Mongolia.
Initiated by the State Head, this meeting ran last Friday, bringing together some Ministers, MPs, members of the National Security Council, officials from the Cabinet Secretariat, the Parliamentary Office and the Office of Immigration, Naturalization and Foreign Citizens.
The President said everything must be done for realizing his appeal to return home, made on the eve of New year to all the Mongolians in the world. The state should create everything so that the Mongolians live in the motherland. The President said it is time to take some urgent measures because Mongolia has been facing many problems such as air pollution and needs to improve the living environment. He also expressed a worry about an increasing number of Mongolians who seek citizenship of other countries. “We must study experience of other countries to solve problems of foreigners who seek the Mongolian citizenship. We have some 50 laws about foreign citizens or citizenship, which shows how wide this problem is,” he stressed. He added that Mongolia needs to implement a policy for all the Mongolians and proposed setting up a working group to organize this work and to create a legal environment by realizing programs and by approving laws and contracts. Then the gathered exchanged views on these issues and decided to realize projects and to convey some proposals to the government.
