P.Lkhamdegd, G.Mandakhnaran named Rio Tinto ambassador athletes
Rio Tinto named two athletes with hopes of success in the 2012 London Olympics as “ambassador athletes” on Monday.
The ambassador athletes are freestyle wrestler G.Mandakhnaran, the champion of the Guangzhou Asian Games, and judo wrestler P.Lkhamdegd, a Grand Prix winner currently ranked seventh in the world.
Cameron McRae, the company’s Mongolia director, said Rio Tinto will provide the maximum support possible to help Mongolian athletes win medals at the Olympics.
McRae said Rio Tinto believes G.Mandakhnaran and P.Lkhamdegd can achieve success at the Olympics.
G.Mandakhnaran and P.Lkhamdegd expressed their happiness and promised to try their best at the Olympics.
Oyutolgoi has named Kh.Tsagaanbaatar as that company’s ambassador athlete in 2011.
