Plans to increase tourism revenue in Mongolia
The number of tourists has been increasing every year and about 450,000 tourists visited Mongolia in 2010.
The Tourism Authority, however, feels revenue from tourism could be much higher if more visitors are the high-end type.
Of last year’s number, more than 350,000 were the so-called backpackers who spent just between 3 and 7 days in the country. The tourism sector plans to attract more wealthy tourists in 2011.
