Austrian businessmen to come in July to study investment opportunities
Mongolian and Austrian businessmen held a round table meeting in Vienna in last week organized by the Embassy of Mongolia and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. The Vice President of the Chamber opened the meeting and noted that the volume of trade between the two countries was small but could increase, given the size of natural resources in Mongolia. Ambassador to Austria J.Enkhsaikhan pointed out that while mining was the major attraction for foreign investors, Mongolia also offered opportunities in agriculture, light industry and tourism.
The Chief of the Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade Agency, B.Ganzorig, gave a presentation on the Mongolian economy and the investment situation. He was followed by L.Bayartulga of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, who spoke on areas under his Ministry, and by the Representative of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Austria, Ts.Khashbat, who talked about tourism in Mongolia.
Austrian participants noted that the economic capacity of Mongolia is increasing and asked questions to know more about conditions here. A team from the Austrian Chamber will be in Mongolia from July 2 and 6 to make an on-the-spot study.
