Campaign against alcohol and tobacco in Mongolia
A campaign against use of alcohol and tobacco will be launched tomorrow at the Press Institute by the Health Project of Millennium Challenge Account - Mongolia.
The campaign is specially targeted at young people between 15 and 24, and will highlight the ill effects of alcohol and tobacco and also of passive smoking.
A survey last year found that 27.7% of the total Mongolian population are regular smokers. The percentage among men is 40.7 and among women 3.1. Young people in Ulaanbaatar smoke and drink much more than those in the countryside.
