Mongolia attends conference against human trafficking
Mongolia was among the 32 Asia-Pacific countries attending the fourth regional conference on human trafficking and related transnational crimes on March 30 in Bali, Indonesia. Deputy Minister for Justice V.Udval led the Mongolian delegation.
Apart from national teams, representatives of the International Organization for Migration, the UN High Commission for Migrants, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, ASEAN and other organizations attended the conference.
Participants noted that closer cooperation among countries was needed to curb human smuggling across borders. Udval met with several delegation heads to discuss how this can be achieved. She also told the meeting about the draft law prepared by the Ministry for Justice and Internal Affairs with support from the Swiss Development Agency, the Asia Foundation and others.
