Mongolia has over 31 million heads of livestock

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ According to the National Statistical office's news, Mongolia has 31 million 830 thousand heads of livestock.

It shows a decrease by 12 million 195 thousand or 27.7 percent against the year 2009.

Preliminary results show that we have one million 860 thous. 6 horses, two million 123 thous. 7 cows, 265 thous. 3 camels, 14 million 050 thous. 8 sheep, 13 million 528 thous. 5 goats. A number of horses dropped by some 360 thousands, cows by 475 thous. 7, camels by 11 thous. 7, sheep by five million 522 thous. 4, and goats--by six million 123 thousand against 2009.

In Sukhbaatar province only there was a growth in all five kinds of livestock. Three aimags--Dundgovi, Zavkhan and Uvurkhangai--have suffered 1.1-1.7 million losses, five provinces have counted the most number of livestock--Khuvsgul, Tuv, Arkhangai, Bulgan and Khentii.

Number of horses has increased in two aimags but decreased elsewhere, of cows has grown up in three aimags only. Number of camels has increased in seven aimags, in Umnogovi aimag especially standing at 83 thousand, of sheep has gone up in two aimags. A population of goats has increased in one province.
