Women’s conference held in Ulaanbaatar

The Ulaanbaatar Women Council and the Mayor’s Office organized a conference called “Capital Development – Women’s Participation” on Wednesday.

Women Council President D.Narantsetseg, Deputy Mayor B.Baatarzorig, and Women Council Project Coordinator G.Enkhsaikhan read papers about projects implemented by women’s organizations. Delegates discussed the results of those projects.

The Ulaanbaatar Women Council was established on November 16, 1926. It works to protect women’s interests and to promote women’s causes through its nine district branches and other units.

The council’s regular “Capital Development – Women’s Participation” conference has been held for five years. Previous conferences decided to complete 85 projects in Ulaanbaatar, with every district completing nine.

The Women Council organizes activities to develop and train women for professional careers, as well as providing family assistance. It also cooperates with the Mayor’s Office, and the Labor and Welfare Service departments and foreign and domestic NGOs.
