Parliament approves Tavantolgoi protocol change

Parliament discussed a proposal regarding Parliament the 39th protocol that was submitted by MPs Ya.Batsuuri and D.Odbayar on Thursday and approved further discussion.

Some MPs opposed the protocol change and stated that domestic organizations that produce 80 percent of national wealth should have the right to buy shares while others said that shares of Erdenes Tavantolgoi LLC should be freely given to people.

Z.Enkhbold said that Parliament passed the 39th protocol one and a half years ago but the Government has not fully implemented it. He said the Government has asked some MPs to initiate the protocol change to avoid responsibility.

In the end of discussion, MPs decided to submit the protocol change to the Standing Committee on Economics.
