Standing committee discusses appointment of ACA chief
The Standing Committee on Justice discussed a draft law on anti-corruption on Tuesday. During the discussion, members raised the issue of appointing a new head of the Anti Corruption Authority (ACA).
N.Enkhbold said the current anti-corruption law has a provision saying the head of the ACA should resign if convicted of a criminal matter by a court.
That is why the committee would not discuss an appointment, although it could send a note for an appointment to the president.
D.Odbayar said that the State Supreme Court sent a note to Speaker D.Demberel on Tuesday saying the appointment issue will be decided according to the recommendation of Parliament.
